Backward Water Meter Leads to Criminal Charges

Olean police say they caught a man who removed his home water meter and installed it backwards to avoid paying for water and sewer. The Water department noticed zero readings and even negative readings for the home of 60 year old Christopher Henderson on Seneca Ave.
He’s charged with Theft of services.
New York state would become the 13th state to permit driver’s licenses for immigrants who entered the country illegally under legislation passed the state Assembly Wednesday with 86 yeses to 47 noes.

The measure has the support of liberal groups, the state’s largest business organization and Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Yet its fate remains uncertain in the state Senate, which has not scheduled a vote on the bill.
Governor Cuomo said he’ll sign if it passes the Senate before lawmakers adjourn next week.
