Buffalo Diocese Releases Abuse Lawsuit Numbers

The Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has released some statistics on their clergy sexual abuse lawsuits.
It’s paid $17 and a half million to 106 victims and rejected the claims of another 135 accusers.
Seventeen other people who said they were molested have said no to settlement offers.
Three more are considering settling with the diocese instead of taking their claims to trial.
So far the diocese has publicly identified about 80 priests as abusers.
The Olean Hospice Walk & Run is scheduled for Saturday morning
It’s the 23rd year straight for the run.
Registration and check-in for the 5K course is from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Swan Business Building at St. Bonaventure.
The money goes to help the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation. The theme, is “Reflecting on Life, Striding for Love,”
New this year is a raffle with prizes that include Southwest airfare for two anywhere in the continental United States
