Sewage Flows In Bolivar Because of Heavy Rain

Heavy rains caused sewage to flow into little Geneseee Creek in Bolivar Monday
Almost 541-thousand gallons of sewage poured into the creek at the Bolivar Sewage Treatment Plant on Liberty Street.
It happened at 6 a.m. The heavy rain led to the treatment plant reaching the system’s limit.
According to the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation website, weather and insufficient system capacity are common reasons for the discharge of untreated or partially treated sewage.
More and more people are seeing improvements at the Ash Center over the past year. attendance has been going up over the past year. Some of the improvedments they’ve seen included new exterior lighting, a sealed and painted parking lot, new windows and new paint for the front of the building. there’s also new furniture in the front lobby. And they say they’re not finished yet. Before long they plan to more painting as well as replacing chairs.
