Olean Reaches Decision On Tree Trimming

Olean and landowners will split the costs of cuting down trees in the public right of way from now on.
After a year of talking about it, the Common Council decided unanimously on the new rule.
The rule affects about 4,000 trees in the public right-of-way, which are owned by the property owner.
The city has been paying for trimming and cutting the trees but the money was cut in the last budget.
It costs between $200 to $2,400 depending on how big around the tree is.
