Wellsville man given probation on heroin charge

Police say a 22 year old wellsville man conspirated to sell heroin to a police informant.
But he’s not going to jail. Jeramia English was instead sentenced to five years’ probation in Allegany County Court after pleading guilty to attempted sale of a controlled substance. Police say he conspired to sell heroin to an agent of the Wellsville Police Department Sept. 1 on Seneca Street in Wellsville.

A 72-year-old Wyoming County farmer is dead after being struck by a bull on his farm in upstate New York.
It happened in the town of Covington in eastern Wyoming County on Thursday.
State police say Roy Bell, of Perry, was moving cattle around the farm when he was struck by a 1-year-old bull.
A family member discovered Bell and alerted authorities.
Deputies and first responders administered “life-saving measures” but the man died.
It was the second death caused by a bull in upstate New York in 10 days.
