Olean Approves Money for $1M Lawsuit Payment

The $1 million dollar North Union Street Lawsuit is getting paid. The Olean City Council unanimously approved a five-year $500,000 bond for half of the judgment to ontractor Catco Construction of Alden.
Catco successfully sued the city in April for unpaid bills and court costs.
The other half of the money is coming form the general, water and sewer fund.

Construction delays at the Allegany state park dam and bridge means bad news for swimmers this summer.
There will be no swimming in Red House Lake in Allegany State Park this summer. The $6.5 million dam rehabilitation and bridge replacement is not expected to be completed until July 6th. There is an option. Swimming in Quaker Lake will be open on Memorial Day Weekend and weekends only until it opens June 23.

The 90-year-old Allegany State Park Red House Administration Building is in line for a $2.5 million upgrade. Rrestoration will include exterior windows and doors, masonry and drainage. The building opened in 1928.
