C.A.M.P. Working to Preserve Civil War Memorial

The Citizens group working to restore the Cattaraugus County Civil War Memorial has raised twelve hundred dollars to help pay for fixing it up. But it’s a long way from the $700,000 it needs.
Citizens Advocating Memorial Preservation, or C.A.M.P. for short, are meeting tomorrow in Little Valley to talk about the next fundraising steps, the group’s Memorial Day activities at the memorial and building repairs. The meeting’s at the Little Valley Municipal Building at 6 p.m.
The best tap water in the county can be found in Salamanca, according to voters at the 2018 Cattaraugus County Tap Water Taste Contest held at the Greater Olean Home Show.
six local communities were involved, the villages of Allegany, Little Valley and Portville, the cities of Olean and Salamanca and the town of Hinsdale.
Salamanca will represent Cattaraugus County at the Western New York regional competition in Rochester. The regional winner goes to the state finals in Syracuse at the end of August.
