Animal Cruelty Charges Against Olean Woman

Animal cruelty charges for mistreating a herd of goats for an Ashford woman.
60 year old Connie Lipka faces 10 counts of cruelty to animals.
Nighbors complained to the SPCA and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office about Lipka’s five goats on her Folts Road property. She’s accused of failing to provide sufficient food, abundant clean water, sufficient shelter, and necessary medical treatment for her goats.
The goats have since been taken away from her and they’re being evaluated and treated.

A lot of people are focused on the opioid epidemic and heroin in the area, but Olean police say they’re just as concerned about meth labs.
Three meth labs have been found in Olean over the last three months and four people have been arrested.
The problem isn’t just in Olean. Last year New York State Police found meth labs increased from 118 per year from 2010-14 to 447 in 2016.
