Kolb Announces Bid for Governor

Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb is the first Republican to officially announce his candidacy to run against Gov. Andrew Cuomo next year.
Kolb was elected to the Assembly in 2000 and became minority leader in 2009. The last Republican to win statewide office was George Pataki, who was elected to a second term as governor in 2002.
Kolb has $255,00 in his Assembly campaign fund as compared to $26 million on hand for Cuomo’s bid for a third four-year term.

The efforts to overhaul the main entry into Oak Hill Park are being led by a local family just trying to spruce up the neighborhood. Marianne Laine and her husband, Erick, like on north third street. They spearheaded the effort from funding the $162,000 project to helping with design work. The Laine family and Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation have funded several recent projects at the park. The foundation board approved more than $7,600 in grants to replant the slopes around the entrance in 2014,
