Manslaughter Charges Filed in Salamanca Supervisor Death

It’s two counts of vehicular manslaughter for a Cattaraugus man accused of of killing the supervisor for Salamanca and his wife the town clerk friday.
Police says 27 year old Kevin Donaldson Jr. had been drinking when
Mike and Donna Phillips were killed when Donaldson’s car struck them as they crossed the street on their way to town hall at the intersection of Route 353 and North State Road.
Donaldson’s being held in the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.

U.S. Rep. Tom Reed says he’s confident the Republican tax bill will pass Congress and be sent to the president this week. Reed, spoke at a town hall meeting in the Salamanca City Courtroom Saturday. where he faced a lot questions about the tax bill. Many of the people there questioned why the bill needed to be passed so quickly, and suggested bill favors corporations and the wealthy. Reed helped to write the bill.
