52 COVID-19 Cases a Single Day Cattaraugus County Record

It was a record shattering day for COVID 19 in Cattaraugus County as 52 new cases of the virus were reported, nearly doubling the previous single day record of 27 new cases late last month. And a 77-year old man has become the 23rd person to die from COVID related complications.
There are 14 people in a hospital right now being treated for the virus and there are 167 active cases in the county.
Most of the people infected have come from the southeast part of the county, a full 63 percent, and most of the cases, almost 59 percent, were spread by coming in contact with someone who was known to have the virus.
There are now 685 people who have contracted COVID 19 in Cattaraugus County since the Pandemic began in March.
Cattaraugus County got a second taste of winter Tuesday, with 2-3 inches of snow.
