91st Person Tests Positive for CIVID-19 In Cattaraugus County

A 91st person has tested positive for covid 19 in Cattaraugus County. The latest is a young girl from the southeast part of the county who was in direct contact with someone already diagnosed with COVID-19 person. She doesn’t have any symptoms so far. This makes five active covid cases in the county. 77 people are in mandatory quarantine at the moment.

Cattaraugus County isn’t getting fully counted.

Less than half of the homes in Cattaraugus County have responded to the U.S. Census.

The City of Olean’s response rate is 56.7%, slightly below the state’s rate. Salamanca is doing much better, where the response rate is 60.5%, close to the national response rate.

The Town of Allegany had the highest response rate in the county with 66.4%. The lowest response came from the Town of Ellicottville with a 16.5% rate.


The Seneca Nation of Indians has received a $30,591 grant for its Seneca Nation Archives Department Preservation and Access project.
