allegany County Administrator Granted Emergency Powers

Emergency powers have been granted to Allegany County’S administrator.
Meeting over the phone the Allegany County Board of Legislators unanimously approved several measures, including more power to Administrator Carissa Knapp.
It authorizes Knapp to perform more day-to-day duties such as setting business hours, signing contracts and transferring department funds for needed purchases.
The resolution also suspends the typical committee structure used by the county for legislation. Now, the Committee of the Whole will handle the vetting process.
Pennsylvania’s governer has reopened gun shops, and ordered more residents to stay home
Firearms dealers may now sell guns by appointment during limited hours as long as they comply with social distancing guidelines and take other measures to protect employees and customers from the coronavirus.
Governor Thomas Wolf also ordered residents of Erie Countyto remain at home.
The directive took effect Tuesday. Residents of seven other counties have also been ordered to stay home.
