Olean Council to Consider Higher Cab Fares

Riding a cab could get more expensive in Olean.
The council will vote on lifting cab fare price controls.
The council’s city operations committee has voted unanimously to prepare a resolution lifting cab fare restrictions, but still require the cab companies to report their rates to the council. The resolution is being forwarded to the city attorney, and could come before the full council before the end of the year.
Right now, the Common Council fixes the rates for cabs. The current rate is $7.50 for any trip inside the city limits.
