EPA Removes Gowanda Site From Superfund List

The EPA has removed a Gowanda site from it’s Superfund list Nine years after the cleanup.
The site of the former Peter Cooper Corp. glue factoryis no longer on the Superfund list of the nation’s worst toxic sites. It was a glue factory from 1904 to 1985 and disposed of its industrial waste onsite.
The EPA’s work was done by 2010, but it took years of monitoring and inspection before it could be removed from the list.

CAReS the Council on Addiction Recovery Services has seta an open house for it’s new Willow House treatment facility in Westons Mills
The new women’s treatment facility will be showcased at an open house in November.
The two-story Willow House is behind the Weston’s Manor home for men with drug and alcohol addictions.
The treatment facility will offer three levels of care, for stabilization, rehabilitation and reintegration for residents.
