Out of District School Kids Numbers Are Higher Here

A lot of kids who don’t live in Cattaraugus or Allegany counties keep going to school outside of their districts. Both counties continue to have high nonresident student rates
They’re some of the highest rates in New York state.
Over 5% of students in Cattaraugus and Allegany counties didn’t live in the district during the last two school years, according to New York State Education Department, The Olean Times Herald got copies.
Allegany County and Cattaraugus County ranked first and second in Western New York and second and third in all of Upstate New York.
Jamestown Community College’s CAttaraugus County Campus has a new boss.
Paula Snyder is the executive director now.
She’s been the director of Student Health Services for the past 14 years.
She started at JCC as the Health Center nurse in 1992 and has been an adjunct faculty member and has worked closely with all college-wide operations.
