Salamanca To Tear Down Blighted Buildings

Salamanca’s tearing down it’s city-owned structures in a copule of weeks, after about a year of planning.
The target date set for November 6th. There are seven homes that will be bulldozed to the ground.
Six are residential homes and one is a garage. City officials say there are more blighted properties in the city that that need attention, but these were at the top of the list.
A Mexican owned bakery is a good neighbor to Olean Girls softball.
Stroehmann’s Bakery, is owned by Bimbo Bakery in Mexico, and they’ve donated about $5,000 to help improve the fields and the bleachers. About 50 volunteers have repaired two sets of bleachers already, and hope to build another two before long.
They’ve also added a new equipment shed, thanks to the help and donation. The league hosts tournaments of 50 teams for almost the past ten years.
