New Sexual Harassment Police Approved in Olean

There’s a new sexual harassment policy in place for Olean employees. The common council approved the new police Tuesday night. It brings the city into compliance with new state mandates. The city will use police officers and firefighters to retrain employees over the next year. Governor Cuomo signed a new state law this year that sets a “minimum standard” model sexual harassment policy for all public and private employers.
The pumpkins will be flying again this year. About 250 to 300 pumkins will take flight for a good cause. They’re expecting about 60 to 75 teams. Each team uses a large slingshot to shoot the pumpkin at a target. Each of the 30 to 35 targets has prizes valued between $50 and $100 donated by area businesses. All proceeds will benefit Rebuilding Together Olean. The organization provides free rehabilitation to the homes of seniors, the disabled, low-income people and families.
