Three Soldiers Honored Posthumously

The area saluted and paid tribute to three soldiers over the weekend.
The family of World War II Vet U.S. Army Pfc. Donald L. Buchanan gathered Saturday at War Vets Park in Olean. Buchanan, died in 1976. His family was presented with the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart and several other medals posthumously.

Korean War Vet Army Cpl. William Sadewasser, was buried with full militayr honors in Ulysses, Pennsylvania where he grew up. He was killed in the Korean War and listed as missing in action.
The family was notified in April that his remains were identified through DNA testing.
Sadewasser was buried with full military honors in a solemn and dignified funeral at the Ulysses Cemetery Saturday.

More than 70 years after his death, World War II Vet Staff Sgt. Harold Kuhn was buried next to his parents, brother and aunt in Friendship. Kuhn’s remains were only recently identified.
