Fatal Memorial Day Crash in Scio

IT was a deadly memorial day holiday on the road. An allegany county man is facing a felony manslaughter charge after a fatal car-pedestrian accident on County Road 18.
New York State Police said a 1991 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by 43 year old Todd Gardner of Scio (sow) hit 37 year old Douglas Brauen of Wellsville. He was taken to Jones Memorial Hospital to be treated for possible leg fractures, but during treatment he went into cardiac arrest and died.

The Dorothy Lane bridge replacement work is expected to begin soon. Signs are being set in anticipation of work that will start in June near the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from McKean County’s structurally deficient list.The official detour will make use of West Corydon Street, South Avenue, Mechanic Street, and West Washington Street.
